Your serial number determines what kind of copy protection is enforced for your installation. Please take a moment to examine your serial number to make sure you are following the appropriate installation procedure. The copy protection options are as follows:
Protection Mode - Local Dongle
Serial number starts with - B
Dongle Color - Purple
Protection Mode - Network Dongle
Serial number starts with - G
Dongle Color - Red or Purple
Local dongle protection serial numbers start with "B." These can be used only with purple dongles.

Vectorworks 2025 supports only HASP HL USB dongles. All earlier forms of dongle hardware, for example HASP4 (WEMORE), are now obsolete and must be replaced to work with Vectorworks 2025.
If you need to upgrade your dongle, your Vectorworks distributor will be able to furnish you with the HASP HL USB dongle. The MacHASP USB dongle exchange may incur a nominal handling fee. Microguard dongles may require a replacement fee. Please contact your local reseller or distributor if you require a change in your dongle configuration.
The Vectorworks distributor list can be found online at: https://www.vectorworks.net/international
Once you have received your HASP HL USB dongle, you will be able to use it with your existing Vectorworks installation(s).
